After a long waiting period, Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan finally started shooting for his web debut project, Citadel. Russo Brothers’ big project will be made in English as well as Hindi, and the latter is helmed by none other than The Family Man directors Raj and DK.
On Tuesday, VD shared an update with his fans and followers on Instagram. The Kalank star shared a selfie, in which he can be seen sporting a rug look. In the photo, Varun is seen with a bleeding nose and dirt on his face. It seems like he had shot for a high-octane action sequence. Instagramming the photo, the actor wrote, “It's been a ruff night. Day 3. India Citadel”.
After the official announcement confirming Varun’s casting in the series, the actor had said, “Prime Video is like home to me, and I am thrilled to begin this journey in the streaming space with them. Citadel is an exceptionally ambitious and exciting franchise, and to be part of this magnificent universe, conceptualised by the Russo Brothers’ AGBO and Jennifer Salke, is a landmark moment in my career. I have been a big fan of their work and I am beyond thrilled to be a part of this project and can’t wait to start shooting it. The storyline of the Indian Citadel chapter is fantastic, and when you have creators like Raj & DK on board, one can be certain that a spectacle is in the making,” in a statement.
South sensation Samantha Ruth Prabhu will be seen headlining the upcoming Prime Video series alongside Varun Dhawan.
Coming to the professional front, the 35-year-old actor was last seen in the Amar Kaushik directorial Bhediya, produced by Dinesh Vijan. Besides Citadel India, Varun also has a film with Janhvi Kapoor in his kitty, titled Bawaal.
