In an interview with ETimes, Paresh said that writing has changed a lot and Kapil Sharma's show is one such example. Calling Kapil extremely talented, Paresh said that the comedian as the capacity to bring laughter with the lines that have no humour just with his way of delivering those lines.

However, Paresh also expressed his disappointment at the comedy in films these days. "There is no buffoonery these days in films and another thing which I don't like is people making fun of disabled characters. Koi mota aadmi hai, koi patla aadmi hai... Itna bhadda lagta hai mujhe. It's just disgusting, people who make a laughing stock out of such topics should be punished. There should be a high comedy, where once the audience is done the laughing, they should realise and relate to the truthful side of it. I feel comedy that shows you a direction is correct humour," he said.

Paresh Rawal was last seen in the film Sharmaji Namkeen. He played the title role which was also played by late Rishi Kapoor. Rawal was roped in after the demise of Kapoor to complete the film. The film is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Paresh Rawal will next be seen in the film Kartik Aaryan's Shehzada.
