The trailer of Ranveer Singh's upcoming film Jayeshbhai Jordaar was unveiled earlier today. The film directed and written by Divyang Thakkar narrates the story of an unconventional man who rises above the rules set by society to save his unborn daughter.

Jayeshbhai Jordaar Trailer Ranveer Singh's Jayeshbhai becomes an action hero to save his unborn daughter

The trailer of Jayeshbhai Jordaar begins on a serious note with a young girl complaining to the village Sarpanch (Boman Irani) about the harassment faced by girls by alcoholic men of the village. The school-going girl requests the village head to ban alcohol. However, the Sarpanch responds by saying that one needs to ban soap as men get attracted by the smell of soap used by women in the village, which causes them to behave in an inappropriate manner. This scene sets the tone for the trailer and the mentality of the village.

The only person who seems amused by this comment is Ranveer Singh's character Jayeshbhai who is also the son of the Sarpanch. He reveals that he has no option but to agree with his father's decision, however, bizarre. Ranveer Singh's character is shown as a married man in the trailer and has a young daughter. His wife, played by Shalini Pandey, is pregnant for the second time. There is pressure on the couple to deliver a baby boy so that he can carry forward the legacy of village head in the generation to come.

Ratna Pathak Shah essays the role of Ranveer's mother, who is also adamant about having a grandson. However, when Jayeshbhai comes to know that they are having a daughter, he flees town with his wife and daughter.

Jayeshbhai, on the other hand, is seen as a progressive father who is adamant about saving his unborn daughter. The trailer gives glimpses of his attempt to save his wife, daughter, and their unborn child. It is, however, his daughter who encourages him to fight back like an action hero and become Jayeshbhai Jordaar.

Jayeshbhai Jordaar will be released in theatres on May 13.
